     The Eastside Neighborhood Advisor services are free and confidential for adults,

60 years and older. You or someone you know can access information or get assistance with

forms, applications, service referrals, or entitlement programs. Call to see if the

program can be of help to you, a family member or a neighbor.

Open Computer Lab Hours
        8:30 – 10:00 AM & 1:00 – 3:00 PM Monday – Friday (Except when classes are given)

Oriental Brush Painting Thursdays, 9:30 – 11:00 AM ($10)
Golden Cafe -  Lunch served Monday – Friday 12 Noon - !:30 PM.  Come early & play cards or socialize.

Neighborhood Advisor Services – The Eastside Neighborhood Advisor is available Monday – Friday during normal office hours. Your Neighborhood Advisor can research concerns or problems, help with obtaining and completing applications or other forms, help locate needed services,  provide information about stretching household income and work with individuals or senior groups. This process can be done in person, by phone or through the mail. Our Neighborhood Advisor is trained to help older adults get the services they need to remain independent in their home setting and be informed of programs available to them in the community.  Call Cecilia Resti at 478-8634 to access these services.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

 Getting Acquainted with the Computer
Never tried a computer before? Wondering what all the excitement is about? Join this hands-on class to get acquainted with a computer for the first time. Focus on what you want to do, not just computer details.

Introduction to Computers
Learn how to get started using a computer, how to use the Windows operating system, terminology and basic keyboarding and mouse skills. You will also learn some basic word processing and be able to create and save anything you write, from letters to poetry. Additional topics available depending on interest.

Pre-requisite: Getting Acquainted with the Computer

MOVING FOR

BETTER BALANCE

 

Funded by a grant from Onondaga County Department of Aging &Youth  

What:    Moving for Better Balance is a free exercise program designed to
               reduce the risk of falling among seniors.

Where: The Westcott Community Center , 826Euclid Ave., Syracuse , NY

When:   Every Wednesday and Friday, 1:00 PM - 1:45

Who:     Anyone over 60 years of age

Free classes will be led by Exercise Physiologist, Anne Reilly who will tailor the class to each person's needs to make sure that everybody is moving at their own pace.  So, come prepared to learn how YOU can get moving for better balance!

Transportation can be arranged.  Call 478-8634 for information.
